Easy Ways To Save Up Money For Your Vacation Plans
by Vince O'Hare
When you start thinking about your next vacation the first thing
you think about is where you are going to spend it. That is probably a
mistake, let me tell you why.
Most of the time you really don't have as much money for vacation
as you are going to spend. There are things that you could do during
the year that can give you a lot more money to spend and in most cases
make it a better vacation. Just making some simple changes to your
lifestyle you could stash away enough money that you could go to a
more expensive place.
One way to save is by eating breakfast at home instead of picking
up coffee and a donut on the way to work. Besides saving yourself
money odds are you will also improve your health. Eating a bowl of
cereal with some fruit and maybe a cup of coffee 5 days a week becomes
a huge savings over the course of the year.
Speaking of food you can save even more money by bringing your own
lunch to work. Let's say you spend $5 for breakfast and $5 for lunch
that's $10 a day that you could put in a money market account and
build up for a better vacation.
If you dine out a lot for dinner cut that back to once a week and
you will see even more savings. Another thing that can help is getting
the whole family involved in savings. Tell your kids that if they shut
off the lights and the tv when leaving a room you will take them to
Hawaii. Another big waste for kids is standing in front of the
refrigerator with the door open. You could use this kind of stuff for
a whole year.
When you go food shopping make out a grocery list and stick with
it. All those extras that you pick up while going up and down the
aisle quickly adds up on your bill. Take that money and put it
somewhere that you will get interest.
Just by doing this it will set a good example for the kids on
saving money and you get a nice vacation out of it for the whole
family.
