No first president has endured the test of time like the United
States first president George Washington. Every year many people come
and visit the Washington Monument as a lasting tribute to our first
president of the United States.
The Washington Monument stands as the most revealing landmark at the
Washington mall as it sits as the centerpiece to the Washington Mall.
It stands over 555 feet tall and is the tallest structure in
Washington D.C. At the base of the Washington Monument is the fifty
flags which represent the 50 states that make of the United States.
If you take the elevator to the top of the Washington Monument you
will also be able to see the Lincoln Memorial and the White House
among others. The Washington Monument was recently restored and new
information center has been added. This is a popular stop for kids
groups from schools to learn about the nations first president.
Tickets are free to visit the Washington Monument you just have to
call to get them. For just about any visitor this is one trip that is
well worth the effort and time you make to see it.
Being the first president always holds something special and being
